Design Your New Green Home

A green home uses less energy, water, and natural resources; creates less waste; and is healthier for the people living inside.

One of the many challenges faced by home builders is determining what defines a ‘green home’’.  There are over 80 local and regional green home building programs in the United States. Each of these programs is unique, with its own specifications and requirements.
However, most guidelines do not require documentation and independent, third-party verification. There are only three national new home rating systems that clearly define and establish benchmarks for the features of a green home: The U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system, the National Association of Home Builder’s National Green Building Standard, and the ENERGY STAR for New Homes program.
The Green Home Team can help you design your new home according to either of these programs.  Our staff is comprised of LEED Accredited Professionals, LEED for Homes standard development contributors, NAHB Accredited Green Verifiers, ENERGY STAR Partners and Building Performance Analysts.
