9. Moisture on Windows:
Moisture in the air condenses when it touches a the cooler window surface. It is difficult to completely eliminate moisture on existing windows. The first step is to control the amount of indoor moisture. Use ventilation fans in the kitchen and bathrooms. Your clothes dryer should be vented directly to the outside. Make sure the vent duct is securely attached to the dryer, clear of obstructions, and free from cracks and holes. Consider replacing old windows with ENERGY STAR label windows. If you are not ready to replace your old windows, install a shrink film or polyethylene sheet window insulation kit. Call The Green Home Team to schedule a whole-house energy diagnostic. We will help you identify and address potential window condensation issues.
